Taro Terconazole Dosage

Vaginal cream: Insert one full applicator of vaginal cream into the vagina at bedtime for 7 consecutive nights. In addition, apply a thin layer of vaginal cream directly to the vulva and massage it in gently.

Many things can affect the dose of medication that a person needs, such as body weight, other medical conditions, and other medications. If your doctor has recommended a dose different from the ones given here, do not change the way that you are using the medication without consulting your doctor.

  • headache
  • vaginal pain, burning, or itching

Although most of these side effects listed below don't happen very often, they could lead to serious problems if you do not check with your doctor or seek medical attention.

  • Fever, chills, or flu-like symptoms
  • skin rash or Hives

Stop taking the medication and seek immediate medical attention if any of the following occur:

  • signs of a severe skin reaction such as blistering, peeling, a rash covering a large area of the body, a rash that spreads quickly, or a rash combined with fever or discomfort
  • signs of a serious allergic reaction (e.g., abdominal cramps, difficulty breathing, nausea and vomiting, or swelling of the face and throat)

Each g of white-to-off-white, water washable vaginal cream contains terconazole 0.4%. Nonmedicinal ingredients: butylated hydroxyanisole, cetyl alcohol, isopropyl myristate, polysorbate 60, polysorbate 80, propylene glycol, purified water, and stearyl alcohol.

There may be an interaction between terconazole and any of the following:

Taro Terconazole Warnings

Before you begin using a medication, be sure to inform your doctor of any medical conditions or Allergies you may have, any medications you are taking, whether you are pregnant or breast-feeding, and any other significant facts about your health. These factors may affect how you should use Taro Terconazole (Terconazole-vaginal).

Condition does not improve: Check with your doctor if your condition does not improve after treatment. Failure to improve may also mean that the infection may not be fungal, or that another infection may have developed.

Pregnancy: Taro Terconazole (Terconazole-vaginal) should not be used during the first trimester of pregnancy unless the benefits outweigh the risks. Pregnant women should be careful when using the vaginal applicator. If you become pregnant while taking Taro Terconazole (Terconazole-vaginal), contact your doctor.

Breast-feeding: It is not known if terconazole passes into breast milk. If you are a breast-feeding mother and are using Taro Terconazole (Terconazole-vaginal), it may affect your baby. Talk to your doctor about whether you should continue breast-feeding.

Children: The safety and effectiveness of Taro Terconazole (Terconazole-vaginal) have not been established for children.
