Harj Samra is the Co-Founder of PocketPills, a tech-driven pharmacy that’s redefining the Canadian pharmacy experience. After graduating as a pharmacist from UBC in 2005, Harj moved back to his small town of Terrace, BC to connect with his community. He then founded Pharmacity Drugstores in 2009 after managing several stores in a corporate culture. Subsequently, Harj realized the importance of flexible, nimble care and looked to create his own culture by aligning with partners with similar philosophies and opening several other community connected pharmacies. Beyond pharmacy, Harj created and incorporated other services to help patients that included at-home nursing services, medical clinics, and registering 57 Natural Health Products with Health Canada. Harj’s inherent passion for pharmacy and deep understanding of regulations has led to the creation of PocketPills. This revolutionary experience takes his pharmacy culture Canada wide to tackle the problems of a fragmented pharmacy system, low medication adherence, and high cost.
