Sodium cromoglycate belongs to the class of medications called mast cell stabilizers. It is used to prevent symptoms associated with Asthma that are caused by exposure to certain substances or conditions. When used regularly, Pms Cromoglycate Inh. (Cromoglycate-sodium-inh) will decrease the occurrence and severity of asthma attacks by reducing lung inflammation.
Examples of situations causing asthma that may be prevented by sodium cromoglycate include exercise; or exposure to pollen, chemicals, allergens (substances that cause an individual to have an allergic reaction), cold air, or air pollutants.
Pms Cromoglycate Inh. (Cromoglycate-sodium-inh) works by preventing the release of substances from certain inflammatory cells (mast cells) that cause asthma symptoms or bronchospasm. A sodium cromoglycate inhaler will not help an asthma attack that has already started.
Your doctor may have suggested Pms Cromoglycate Inh. (Cromoglycate-sodium-inh) for conditions other than those listed in these drug information articles. As well, some forms of Pms Cromoglycate Inh. (Cromoglycate-sodium-inh) may not be used for all of the conditions discussed here. If you have not discussed this with your doctor or are not sure why you are taking Pms Cromoglycate Inh. Do not give Pms Cromoglycate Inh. (Cromoglycate-sodium-inh) to anyone else, even if they have the same symptoms as you do. It can be harmful for people to take Pms Cromoglycate Inh. (Cromoglycate-sodium-inh) if their doctor has not prescribed it.
The usual starting dose is one nebule, given through a mask attached to a machine called a nebulizer, 4 times daily. Once your doctor has determined that your asthma is under control, the dose is reduced to one nebule every 8 to 12 hours. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information on how to use the nebulizer.
Many things can affect the dose of medication that a person needs, such as body weight, other medical conditions, and other medications. If your doctor has recommended a dose different from the ones listed here, do not change the way that you are taking the medication without consulting your doctor.
It is important to use Pms Cromoglycate Inh. (Cromoglycate-sodium-inh) exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you miss a dose of Pms Cromoglycate Inh. The following side effects have been reported by at least 1% of people taking Pms Cromoglycate Inh. (Cromoglycate-sodium-inh). Many of these side effects can be managed, and some may go away on their own over time.
Contact your doctor if you experience these side effects and they are severe or bothersome. Your pharmacist may be able to advise you on managing side effects.
Although most of the side effects listed below don't happen very often, they could lead to serious problems if you do not seek medical attention.

Pms Cromoglycate Inh. (Cromoglycate-sodium-inh) is available as a 1% solution for inhalation.
Do not use this mediction if you are allergic to sodium cromoglycate or any ingredients of the medication.
Tell your doctor or prescriber about all prescription, over-the-counter (non-prescription), and herbal medications that you are taking. Also tell them about any supplements you take.
