Salbutamol belongs to a class of medications called bronchodilators, and more specifically, β2-adrenergic agonists. Pms Salbutamol Oral (Salbutamol-systemic) is used to treat Asthma, chronic Bronchitis, and other breathing disorders. It works by relaxing the muscles in the walls of the small airways in the lungs. This helps to open up the airways and make breathing easier.
Pms Salbutamol Oral (Salbutamol-systemic) may be available under multiple brand names and/or in several different forms. Any specific brand name of Pms Salbutamol Oral (Salbutamol-systemic) may not be available in all of the forms or approved for all of the conditions discussed here. As well, some forms of Pms Salbutamol Oral (Salbutamol-systemic) may not be used for all of the conditions discussed here.

Do not give Pms Salbutamol Oral (Salbutamol-systemic) to anyone else, even if they have the same symptoms as you do. It can be harmful for people to take Pms Salbutamol Oral (Salbutamol-systemic) if their doctor has not prescribed it.
The usual dose of salbutamol liquid for adults and children over 12 years of age is 5 mL to 10 mL (2 mg to 4 mg) given 3 to 4 times per day.
For children 6 to 12 years of age, the usual dose is 5 mL (2 mg) 3 to 4 times per day. For children 2 to 6 years of age, the usual dose is based on body weight and is given 3 to 4 times per day.
Many things can affect the dose of a medication that a person needs, such as body weight, other medical conditions, and other medications. If your doctor has recommended a dose different from the ones listed here, do not change the way that you are taking the medication without consulting your doctor.
Use an oral syringe to measure each dose of the liquid, as it gives a more accurate measurement than household teaspoons.
Salbutamol liquid should not be used for sudden breathing difficulties. For asthma attacks and other sudden breathing problems, a short-acting bronchodilator (e.g., salbutamol, terbutaline) inhaler should be used.
It is important to take Pms Salbutamol Oral (Salbutamol-systemic) exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible and continue with your regular schedule. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. If you are not sure what to do after missing a dose, contact your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
Store Pms Salbutamol Oral (Salbutamol-systemic) at room temperature, protect it from light and moisture, and keep it out of the reach of children.
Do not dispose of medications in wastewater (e.g. down the sink or in the toilet) or in household garbage. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medications that are no longer needed or have expired.
Many medications can cause side effects. A side effect is an unwanted response to a medication when it is taken in normal doses. Side effects can be mild or severe, temporary or permanent.

The following side effects have been reported by at least 1% of people taking this medication. Many of these side effects can be managed, and some may go away on their own over time.
Contact your doctor if you experience these side effects and they are severe or bothersome. Your pharmacist may be able to advise you on managing side effects.
Although most of the side effects listed below don't happen very often, they could lead to serious problems if you do not seek medical attention.

Each mL of clear, colourless, orange-flavoured liquid contains 0.4 mg salbutamol. Nonmedicinal ingredients: citric acid monohydrate, ethyl alcohol, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, orange flavour, purified water, sodium benzoate, sodium citrate dehydrate, and sodium cyclamate.

Diabetes: Salbutamol liquid can increase blood sugar levels. Heart conditions: Salbutamol can cause heart complications when used by people with heart conditions, such as heart disease, abnormal heart rhythms, and high blood pressure. If you have any of these conditions, discuss with your doctor how Pms Salbutamol Oral (Salbutamol-systemic) may affect your medical condition, how your medical condition may affect the dosing and effectiveness of Pms Salbutamol Oral (Salbutamol-systemic), and whether any special monitoring is needed.
Low blood potassium: Salbutamol liquid can cause low potassium levels in the blood. If you experience weakness, tiredness, muscle cramps, nausea, or vomiting while receiving Pms Salbutamol Oral (Salbutamol-systemic), let your doctor know. Talk to your doctor about whether any special monitoring is needed. Your doctor will monitor your potassium levels with blood tests if needed.
Overactive Thyroid: Salbutamol can increase the activity of the thyroid gland. If you have an overactive thyroid (Hyperthyroidism), discuss with your doctor how Pms Salbutamol Oral (Salbutamol-systemic) may affect your medical condition, how your medical condition may affect the dosing and effectiveness of this medication, and whether any special monitoring is needed.
Seizures: Salbutamol can increase the risk of seizures, especially for people with a history of seizures disorders. If you have a seizure disorder, discuss with your doctor how Pms Salbutamol Oral (Salbutamol-systemic) may affect your medical condition, how your medical condition may affect the dosing and effectiveness of Pms Salbutamol Oral (Salbutamol-systemic), and whether any special monitoring is needed.
Use of anti-inflammatory agents: According to current practice guidelines for treating asthma, anti-inflammatory medications (e.g., corticosteroids such as inhaled beclomethasone, budesonide, or fluticasone) should also be used if Pms Salbutamol Oral (Salbutamol-systemic) is needed regularly, on a daily basis. If your asthma becomes worse (you need to use salbutamol more often or it stops working), contact your doctor.
Pregnancy: Pms Salbutamol Oral (Salbutamol-systemic) should not be used during pregnancy unless the benefits outweigh the risks. If you become pregnant while taking Pms Salbutamol Oral (Salbutamol-systemic), contact your doctor.
Breast-feeding: Pms Salbutamol Oral (Salbutamol-systemic) probably passes into breast milk. If you are a breast-feeding mother and are taking Pms Salbutamol Oral (Salbutamol-systemic), it may affect your baby. Talk to your doctor about whether you should continue breast-feeding.
Children: The safety and effectiveness of using Pms Salbutamol Oral (Salbutamol-systemic) have not been established for children less than 2 years of age. The safety and effectiveness of using Pms Salbutamol Oral (Salbutamol-systemic) for long periods of time have not been established for children 2 to 6 years of age. Very rarely, Pms Salbutamol Oral (Salbutamol-systemic) may cause hyperactivity, sleeping problems, and behavioural changes in children. If this occurs, contact your child's doctor.
