Lioresal Intrathecal Dosage

The recommended dose of the injectable form of Lioresal Intrathecal (Baclofen) is based on individual needs. Injectable Lioresal Intrathecal (Baclofen) should only be injected intrathecally (into the fluid space around the spinal cord). Some people will have a special pump implanted under their skin to deliver Lioresal Intrathecal (Baclofen) to the spinal cord on a continuous basis.

Many things can affect the dose of medication that a person needs, such as body weight, other medical conditions, and other medications. If your doctor has recommended a dose different from the ones listed here, do not change the way that you are using the medication without consulting your doctor.

With long-term use, intrathecal Lioresal Intrathecal (Baclofen) may become less effective and require higher doses to obtain the same effect as before. If Lioresal Intrathecal (Baclofen) appears to be less effective, contact your doctor as soon as possible.

It is important that Lioresal Intrathecal (Baclofen) be given exactly as prescribed by your doctor. It is very important to keep your appointments to have the pump refilled, otherwise spasms may recur.
