Apo Buspirone may be available under multiple brand names and/or in several different forms. The recommended dose starts at 5 mg 2 or 3 times daily. This may be increased by 5 mg every 2 to 3 days to a maximum of 45 mg daily in divided doses as directed by the doctor.

If your doctor has recommended a dose different from the ones listed here, do not change the way that you are taking the medication without consulting your doctor.
It is important to take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible and continue with your regular schedule. Seizures: The safety and effectiveness of buspirone when taken by someone with a seizure disorder have not been determined. If you have a seizure disorder or a history of seizure disorders you should not take Apo Buspirone.
If you have a seizure disorder, discuss with your doctor how Apo Buspirone may affect your medical condition, how your medical condition may affect the dosing and effectiveness of Apo Buspirone, and whether any special monitoring is needed.
Pregnancy: This medication should not be used during pregnancy unless the benefits outweigh the risks. If you become pregnant while taking Apo Buspirone, contact your doctor immediately.
Breast-feeding: It is not known if buspirone passes into breast milk. If you are a breast-feeding mother and are taking Apo Buspirone, it may affect your baby. Talk to your doctor about whether you should continue breast-feeding.
Children: The safety and effectiveness of buspirone for children below the age of 6 years have not been established.
