Opsumit How to Take

Opsumit (Macitentan) belongs to the class of medications called endothelin receptor antagonists. It is used alone and in combination with other medications to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). PAH is a condition in which there is high blood pressure in the blood vessels of the lungs that lead to the heart. In pulmonary hypertension, the blood vessels become narrowed or blocked, making it harder for the blood to flow through the lungs and makes the heart work harder to pump blood through the lungs. Opsumit (Macitentan) reduces the blood pressure in your lungs, allowing your heart to pump more efficiently.
