The usual starting dose of Manerix (Moclobemide) for adults is 150 mg twice daily. If necessary, your doctor may gradually increase your dose after the first week to a maximum of 300 mg twice daily. The recommended dose of Manerix (Moclobemide) for adults ranges from 150 mg to 300 mg, taken twice daily after meals.
Manerix (Moclobemide) should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. Do not split, crush, chew, or dissolve the tablets.
Manerix (Moclobemide) may take a few days to several weeks to achieve the best effect. Unlike other MAO inhibitors, no special dietary restrictions are necessary when taking Manerix (Moclobemide). It is very important, however, to always take Manerix (Moclobemide) immediately after you have eaten.
Many things can affect the dose of a medication that a person needs, such as body weight, other medical conditions, and other medications. If your doctor has recommended a dose different from the ones listed here, do not change the way that you are taking the medication without consulting your doctor.
It is important to take Manerix (Moclobemide) exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop taking Manerix (Moclobemide) without talking to your doctor first, even if you start to feel better. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible and continue with your regular schedule. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. If you are not sure what to do after missing a dose, contact your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
Store Manerix (Moclobemide) at room temperature and keep it out of the reach of children.
Do not dispose of medications in wastewater (e.g. down the sink or in the toilet) or in household garbage. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medications that are no longer needed or have expired.
Many medications can cause side effects. A side effect is an unwanted response to a medication when it is taken in normal doses. Side effects can be mild or severe, temporary or permanent.

The following side effects have been reported by at least 1% of people taking Manerix (Moclobemide). Many of these side effects can be managed, and some may go away on their own over time.

Each pale yellow, single-scored, biconvex, film-coated tablet contains 150 mg of Manerix (Moclobemide). Nonmedicinal ingredients: cornstarch, ethylcellulose, iron oxide, lactose, magnesium stearate, methylhydroxypropyl cellulose, polyethylene glycol, povidone, sodium starch glycolate, talc, and titanium dioxide.
300 mg
Each white, single-scored, biconvex, film-coated tablet contains 300 mg of Manerix (Moclobemide). Nonmedicinal ingredients: cornstarch, ethylcellulose, lactose, magnesium stearate, methylhydroxypropyl cellulose, polyethylene glycol, povidone, sodium starch glycolate, talc, and titanium dioxide.

Medications other than those listed above may interact with Manerix (Moclobemide). Tell your doctor or prescriber about all prescription, over-the-counter (non-prescription), and herbal medications you are taking. Also tell them about any supplements you take. Since caffeine, alcohol, the Nicotine from cigarettes, or street drugs can affect the action of many medications, you should let your prescriber know if you use them.
Before you begin using a medication, be sure to inform your doctor of any medical conditions or Allergies you may have, any medications you are taking, whether you are pregnant or breast-feeding, and any other significant facts about your health. These factors may affect how you should use Manerix (Moclobemide).
Diet restrictions: Treatment with Manerix (Moclobemide) does not require special diet restrictions as with other MAO inhibitors such as Phenelzine. However, you should avoid consuming large amounts of certain foods, such as over 70 g of Marmite or 200 g of strong C.E.S.. As a safety measure, immediately report the sudden occurrence of any of the following:
Drowsiness/reduced alertness: Manerix (Moclobemide) may cause drowsiness or dizziness. Do not drive, operate machinery, or perform other potentially hazardous tasks until you have determined how Manerix (Moclobemide) affects you.
Glaucoma: Manerix (Moclobemide) may cause symptoms of glaucoma (increased pressure in the eyes), such as blurred vision or eye pain or pressure, to become worse. If you have glaucoma, discuss with your doctor how Manerix (Moclobemide) may affect your medical condition, and whether any special monitoring is needed.
Kidney Disease: If you have reduced kidney function or kidney disease, discuss with your doctor how Manerix (Moclobemide) may affect your medical condition, how your medical condition may affect the dosing and effectiveness of Manerix (Moclobemide), and whether any special monitoring is needed.
Liver function: Liver disease or reduced liver function may cause Manerix (Moclobemide) to build up in the body, causing side effects. If you have reduced liver function or liver disease, discuss with your doctor how Manerix (Moclobemide) may affect your medical condition, how your medical condition may affect the dosing and effectiveness of Manerix (Moclobemide), and whether any special monitoring is needed. For people with severe liver dysfunction, the daily dose of Manerix (Moclobemide) should be reduced to one-third or one-half of the standard dose.
Other medications: Treatment with tricyclic antidepressants may be started after Manerix (Moclobemide) has been stopped for at least 2 days. Do not start treatment with Manerix (Moclobemide) until antidepressants have been stopped for 2 weeks in most cases (wait 5 weeks after taking fluoxetine).
Suicidal or agitated behaviour: People taking Manerix (Moclobemide) may feel agitated (restless, anxious, aggressive, emotional, and feeling not like themselves), or they may want to hurt themselves or others. These symptoms may occur within several weeks after starting Manerix (Moclobemide). If you experience these side effects or notice them in a family member who is taking Manerix (Moclobemide), contact your doctor immediately. You should be closely monitored by your doctor for emotional and behaviour changes while taking Manerix (Moclobemide).
Thyroid disease: With certain types of thyroid disease, Manerix (Moclobemide) can cause a severe increase in blood pressure. If you have thyroid disease, discuss with your doctor how Manerix (Moclobemide) may affect your medical condition, how your medical condition may affect the dosing and effectiveness of Manerix (Moclobemide), and whether any special monitoring is needed.
Pregnancy: The safety of using Manerix (Moclobemide) during pregnancy has not been established. Manerix (Moclobemide) should not be used during pregnancy unless the benefits outweigh the risks. If you become pregnant while taking Manerix (Moclobemide), contact your doctor immediately.
Breast-feeding: Manerix (Moclobemide) passes into breast milk. If you are a breast-feeding mother and are taking Manerix (Moclobemide), it may affect your baby. Talk to your doctor about whether you should continue breast-feeding.
Children: The safety and effectiveness of using Manerix (Moclobemide) have not been established for children.
